Emma’s first blog

I’m not really a writer but here it goes…

When I joined the salon at 18 years old (a little later than most) i had just finished my A-levels. Instead of going to uni I decided to learn a trade (thanks to Monica who got me the interview). I qualified after 2 years and the training was by far the hardest 2 years for my journey so far. I had many ups and downs at one point I was ready to give up as I thought I wasn’t good enough, but the salon had a new owner and was reinvented as The Brentwood Hairdresser, Rob and the guys gave me so much support to continue and I cannot thank them enough.

I have now been on the shop floor since early 2017 and since then I have realised that I am more passionate about colour and have decided to focus on that aspect of hairdressing by specialising in it. Ive also earned the role of head of colour and so I’m also responsible for training the younger members of the team!

Since qualifying I’ve continued studying at the L’oreal academy and Toni & Guy oxford street and it’s been amazing as they have furthered my knowledge and expanded my skills. Everyone knows in hairdressing that you never stop learning!

To wrap it up
I cannot imagine working with a better bunch of clowns than these guys #TBH
